Firefall Screenshots

Plasma Generator Room-  This is one room from a complex I designed and built.  I blocked out the space first with BSP. Then once it was agreed upon with designers, I added textures, detail props, lighting and VFX. Actual VFX assets and detail props were made by Red 5 Art Team and repurposed for this area from our existing prop library.

Amazon Warzone.  The concept for this area was a battlefield that has been fought over for quite an extended time.  The theme for this part of the zone was "cratered area"- a bombed out wasteland covered in craters.  I created the look and feel concept, the terrain texture set, sculpted and painted the terrain, and created the lighting and atmospherics.

Sunrise over the Amazon Warzone.

Amazon Warzone sunrise.  Originally this area was built to be a swamp.  The fiction for the area was changed after it was built, and it became the Amazon.

Amazon Warzone.  Craters!

Amazon Warzone.  More craters.  In the background you can see a fortified base built into one of the craters.

Amazon Warzone.  I constructed a modular tunnel set using our proprietary BSP tools and existing props from our library.  These tunnels formed a network under the battlefield, and allowed alternate ways of traversing the zone.

Amazon Warzone- another crash site.  This crashed ship was placed in the crater by a designer via encounter script after the area was finished.

Crash Down-  This is a campaign mission from Firefall.  I was asked to convert an existing PvP map for this area.  Much of the layout and large structures were built by other world builders.  I did some adjustments to the terrain sculpting and repainted all of the terrain materials.  I also cleared out many smaller props and added the crashed dropship as well as the luminescent plants and foliage.  I readjusted the lighting and added ground fog and other VFX.
Crash Down- Players are sent to this area to rescue the crew of a crashed dropship.

The Hatch-  This is another mission space from Firefall.  I created the concept and did the level design, art, and lighting.

Biosphere Research Facility.  This is some terrain work I did.  This area looks quite different in the game these days.  This is an earlier iteration.
Biosphere Research Facility-  The concept here was that the plants in this facility are becoming sentient and taking over.

Redwood Forest-  Watch where you drop that thumper!  I created the terrain texture set for this zone and did the terrain sculpting and painting, prop placement, and final lighting polish.  Initial lighting courtesy of Aaron Canaday.

Chosen Fortress-  This is the entrance to a base for the bad guys-  The Chosen.  I did the terrain painting and sculpting as well as prop placement and lighting.

Dark Millennium Online (Warhammer 40,000 MMO)

The following are screenshots of work I did for Dark Millennium Online, a Warhammer 40,000 MMO.  In all of these screenshots I did the terrain painting and sculpting, prop placement, and lighting.

Dungeons like this one were blocked out first and play-tested for feedback from designers, then built from modular sets.  I then added detail props from our prop library, placed VFX, and created the lighting.

I built this Cathedral-like building from a modular set of gothic architecture pieces, including all of the damaged parts.  This game made a lot of use of modular sets, which required a lot of planning and testing to make the sets work well.
